Successful leaders bring out the best in others by adopting an approach that generates trust, builds emotional connection and creates a working culture of openness and transparency.

High performance can be achieved through fear of failure but it is not sustainable. Stress, anxiety, fear and insecurity will eventually lead to dysfunctional decision making or illness.

We all know there is unlocked potential in our teams, but we don't always know how to access it.  That’s where coaching comes in – we can alllearn how to shift internal states to access greater clarity, focus, creativity and performance.

Through coaching, the internal dialogue can be re-designed to empower rather than disempower.  In our experience, the opportunity to develop and grow as a department is unlimited when team members truly own their outputs and feel fully empowered to deliver their 'tasks' in a way that is aligned to their strengths.  This often results in a much better product than one 'managed' out of them.

We have to start by tapping into the individuality within our teams and understand their distinct strengths.  There is very good reason for looking at your team members as distinct from each other.

Although, we are trained in the corporate world to behave, perform and communicate in a certain way, such an approach can mask the true potential you have in your team.

Discovering who your team are as individuals, is not for the fainthearted.  Many managers prefer the corporate cohesion of a uniform team.  Controversially, it's easier to manage and control.  However,we know that corporate cohesion does not always inspire creativity, or problem solving.  For an organisation to succeed we need to be bold and encourage brave thinking, individual creativity and ideas.

Managers find a way to deliver tasks - Leaders inspire their teams to not only deliver but create inspirational outputs from the tasks handed to them.

At Lotus Leadership, we encourage teams to shed the corporate veneer that holds them back from speaking up and inspire them to contribute to their organisations in a broader way.  This leads to culture where teams are inspired by each other.
